Application developer with an interest in the green energy transition and data analysis

Do you want to take part in driving the green energy transition in Europe towards a fully carbon-neutral, sustainable energy system? Are you a developer who is curious, open-minded, proactive and enjoys working in an explorative and collaborative way? Do you want to work together with engineers, IT experts and data scientists trying to find the secrets hidden in the vast amounts of data related to our services?

We are looking for an application developer to join our analytics team.

Join Nordic RCC, a fast-developing company providing regional power system planning data and security analysis to support the national Transmission System Operators of Finland, Norway, Sweden and Denmark to ensure the efficient operation of the Nordic Power System and high security of power supply at any time.

Job description

As an application developer in our Analytics team, you will collaborate with engineers, IT experts and data scientists in developing applications for data science, back-office and operational support.
In the role you will be working closely with the rest of the team, being responsible for developing P.O.C’s and applications, and ensuring that they are developed  in accordance with best practices.

The analytics work is highly explorative and dynamic, and it is therefore important that you have a proactive, open, and innovative mindset, and are not afraid to challenge the status quo and approach issues in a new way.
With a combination of skills within application development and visualization, you will play a crucial role in shaping our approach to business challenges and optimizing our processes and data quality.

Your primary tasks and areas of responsibility:

  • Collaborate with engineers and data scientists to develop data analytics applications for data science, back-office, and operational support.
  • Design, together with engineers and data scientists, UI which can communicate large amounts of complex information in a clear and easily understandable way.
  • Transform data science output into tools and applications that can be used to support the service development and operational organization.
  • Work with the team to identify potential improvements to the processes at Nordic RCC.
  • Ensure that the back-end of the analytics tools are designed purposefully and according to best practice.
  • Be up to date with the latest developments of the relevant technology.

Required skills and experience

The ideal candidates will most likely  have

  • A degree in computer science of similar.
  • Experience working as an application developer.

Additionally, you should have:

  • Proficiency in Python, C#, SQL.
  • Experience with Dash, .Net, Azure DevOps and Kubernetes are considered
  • Experience with application development including user interfaces.
  • A proactive and explorative mindset with willingness to challenge the status quo and explore new approaches.
  • A strong teamwork, problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of the Energy sector and power systems is an advantage, but not a requirement.

We are currently 22 nationalities with more than 30% women (striving to improve this balance) and all ages. You will also at times work in teams with colleagues from the Nordic TSOs, either virtually or physically.

The Data & Analytics department is a recently established department with expertise in data architecture, data science, power system engineering, and we are now an application developer to increase our ability to deliver data insight and quality improvement to our services.
It is a small department with a young, enthusiastic, and curious team with an informal work atmosphere, where you can be sure to make an impact.

Your daily workplace will be in our newly furnished office premises in Copenhagen Towers, Ørestad.
We are offering workplace flexibility to ensure a healthy work-life balance, including the possibility for working from home some of your worktime, however, to support social relation between colleagues and the collaborative nature of our work, physical presence in the office is expected most days.
