We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer with knowledge in Kotlin combined with Ktor or a similar backend framework.
As a Backend Engineer you will become an integral part of the team working with sustainable consumer products and payments globally.
You will work with end-to-end autonomy which needs a good understanding of build-automation tools, version control tools and CI/CD.
We are looking for experience with multi-regional backends, where the built system is running in multiple clusters with different time zones, on several datacenters, globally.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend services primarily using Kotlin and Ktor.
  
• Engage and contribute to the design of a multi-regional backend.
  
• Maintain and manage SQL and NoSQL databases.
  
• Maintain and manage search clusters such as OpenSearch.
  
• Work on a payment & product platform and ensure fault tolerance.
  
• Set up CI/CD pipelines using tools like Github, Gradle & CircleCI.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional backend engineering experience.
  
• 3+ years of developing in Kotlin, with understanding of modern and asynchronous backend frameworks.
  
• Knowledge of how to deploy, ingress, monitor and manage backend services in a Kubernetes cluster.
  
• Good communication skills and ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Other:

The assignment may be covered by defense secrecy, which means requirements for a certain citizenship and approval of a security clearance.
