SSAB - Learning & Development Specialist

About the position

During the recent year, we have started to develop SSABs learning concept, putting in place a good foundation for a learning organization.
We are now taking this to the next level, by building an overall framework and platform for competence development – securing development of the right competences and skills for SSABs transformation to fossil-fee steelmaking as well as other future competence needs.
We are now strengthening our team with a Learning & Development professional who, together with representatives from all of our divisions, will be responsible for developing and implementing this journey.

To do this you need to be ambitious and energetic, yet with a down-to-earth and collaborative approach, and can shift between strategic and hands on operational work.
You possess the ability to drive projects in close collaboration with stakeholders from different parts of an organization, tracking progress and delivering results with business focus in mind.
Last, but not the least, you need to be passionate about developing people.

The position holder will be part of the HR Development team in SSABs Group HR Function and report to Head of HR Development and Competence Sourcing.

Main responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of SSABs concept and overall framework for Learning & Development to enhance SSABs learning journey and learning culture, including:
  • Approach, framework and ways of working for learning structures, learning journeys and competence development activities for different employee groups, e.g.: job rotation programs and development roles.
  • Develop SSABs organization and way of working/collaboration within Learning & Development across our divisions.
  • Drive continued implementation and usage of our LMS and other digital solutions for learning, including improving LMS structure to create an attractive and accessible marketplace for learning
  • In collaboration with adequate stakeholders, develop a global framework around skills/core competencies as well as a process for regular evaluation of individual and organizational competence needs.
  • In cooperation with Learning SMEs and our organization of Learning Coordinators, drive development and implementation of global common learning and development concepts, e.g.
    leadership development and change management.
  • Follow-up on KPIs and targets for L&D and utilize for strategic decisions.

About You

  • Proficient in the Learning & Development area with proven experience and knowledge of effective learning methods, and hands-on development and implementation of learning and competence development journeys.
  • Insights and experience in Learning Technology and Learning Experience, including e-learning platforms and Learning Management Systems (LMS).
  • Experience in driving a learning culture.
  • Strong project management skills and professional experience in driving development projects/initiatives within the business, preferably in a global role.
  • Strong collaboration and networking skills as well as excellent communication skills in Swedish or Finnish and English.
  • A holistic approach and the ability to embrace a broad perspective with a growth mindset.
  • Relevant university degree .
  • Experience working with Learning and Development in other industry companies is a plus as well as experience from developing approach, setup and implementation of skills framework.
