Managing Director, Volvo Pension Fund

The managing director of Volvo Pension Fund (VPF) is responsible for the administration and management of all the assets belonging to VPF.
The responsibility also includes the management and administration of Volvo Fund Management, a cooperation based on an agreement between VPF and other foundations connected to the Volvo Group.
The managing director of VPF will report to the SVP of Group Treasury & Corporate Finance.
You participate in the management team of Group Treasury & Corporate Finance. When it comes to operational issues in VPF, the managing director will report to the Board of VPF and in particular to the Chairman of the Board.
To assure the expected return on total assets of the fund given the asset allocation and required rate of return set by the Board of VPF.
The mission also includes the responsibility to deliver accurate and high quality reports and analysis on the performance of VPF and other funds under management to respective Board, regulatory authorities, and other parties of interest.
Main activities and responsibilities

Executive duties:
Lead the work of the total organization consisting of Front, Middle and Back Office (5 persons), and the Accounting Department (3 persons)
Responsible for VPF employees, and engage in their conditions and their professional development
Responsible for a correct and professional behavior vs counterparties, colleagues and other stakeholders
Suggestions to the Board on allocation of the different financial assets
Deliver accurate and high quality reports to different stakeholders

Investment duties:
Assure relevant monitoring of financial markets (equities, fixed income, currencies, private equity, real estate, hedge funds)
Lead executions on the financial markets according to the mandate given by the Board and defined in the Financial Policy
Assure monitoring and development of the different systems supporting the financial activities
Current follow-up on macro- and microeconomic developments
Follow-up and analysis of new financial products
Managing the administration and portfolios of foundations part of Volvo Fund Management (subject to approval by the individual boards)
If required act as a board member in companies where VPF have made investments

Critical competencies for the position
Hold a university degree and/or an MBA in relevant financial field(s)
Relevant experience from senior financial management positions
Solid experience from negotiations relating to financial transactions
Excellent English communication skills, both in writing and speaking
A solid level of leading business leadership competencies
Good understanding and solid knowledge of legal and tax matters related to financial activities
A high level of competence within asset management, with proven “track record”

As managing director of Volvo Pension Fund you need strong leadership skills in order to organize, structure and drive progress.
As a person you should have a high degree of “flexibility” and ability to network effectively across a diverse counterparty/stakeholder universe.
In short, you should be competent in building enduring relationships across functional and geographical areas, and build strong teams that develops.
